Purpose:
Frontier FFA will host HOGwarts: Frontier Farrowing School, a hands-on event that allows members to experience every stage of swine farrowing. Each year, the Cheyenne Frontier Chapter receives one or two bred sows, cared for at the school before and after birth. Students learn how to monitor feed intake, assist during farrowing, and care for the piglets by recording weights, markings, and progress. As the piglets grow, members learn to wean, feed, and manage them, gaining real experience in livestock care and agricultural management.

Why:
HOGwarts: 72% of Americans know little to nothing about American agriculture. Frontier Farrowing School gives students and the community a unique, real-world look into animal science and agribusiness. By caring for sows and piglets from farrowing to weaning, members strengthen their skills in animal husbandry, teamwork, and decision-making, preparing them for success in future agricultural careers.
