PURPOSE: To recognize students who have undergone intensive safety training and industry certification and to encourage more students to become certified. 

WHY: Students who enter the workforce with pre-existing safety certifications are 20% more likely to be hired for high-skill trade roles than those without them. Additionally, young workers. in agriculture are at a significantly higher risk for non-fatal injuries compared to older workers. However, youth who participate in formal safety training programs see a reduction in injury rates by up to 50%.
